Joint Enabling Capabilities Command

As commander of U.S. Transportation Command’s Joint Enabling Capabilities Command, MG Sean Jenkins is responsible for the readiness, training and deployment of joint capabilities provided by the Joint Planning Support Element and Joint Communications Support Element.

JECC is designed to efficiently and effectively meet joint task force commander requirements for a rapidly deployable, tailored team of experts in plans, operations, knowledge management, intelligence support, logistics, public affairs and communications.

Major General Sean M. Jenkins earned his commission as an infantry officer upon graduation from the United States Military Academy in 1988. His military and civilian education include the Infantry Officer's Basic and Advanced Courses, the Command and General Staff College, and the United States Army War College. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

General Jenkins served as a Platoon Leader in multiple roles with the 10th Mountain Division and the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. He commanded two companies with the 1st Cavalry Division, then trained maneuver forces as an Observer Controller at the Army's National Training Center. Returning to the Ranger Regiment, he served as Operations Officer and Liaison Officer during deployments to Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM (OIF). He then commanded the 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment in Alaska and the 3d Ranger Battalion at Fort Benning, Georgia through multiple deployments to OIF.

After a Senior Service College Fellowship at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, he commanded the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and in Afghanistan. General Jenkins was then posted as the Executive Assistant to the Commander, US Pacific Command in Hawaii, before becoming the Deputy Commanding General (Support) for the 25th Infantry Division. He then served as the Deputy Director for Operations and the Special Assistant to the Commander at US Central Command, with a follow-on tour as the Deputy Commanding General of the Army's Installation Management Command in San Antonio, Texas. General Jenkins became the Senior Defense Official and Chief, Office of Security Cooperation - Iraq at the US Embassy in Baghdad, a post he held until June 2019.
