Col. Patrick Wampler is commander of Joint Enabling Capabilities Command’s Joint Communications Support Element at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. JCSE provides rapidly deployable, scalable, enroute and early-entry communications capabilities across the full spectrum of operations in order to quickly enable the joint force.
Wampler was commissioned in 1995 through the ROTC program at Tulane University in New Orleans and has deployed numerous times in his career. His prior joint experience includes serving as deputy commander of the Joint Communications Unit, commander of the 3rd Presidential Communications Command at the White House Communications Agency and commander of JCSE's 1st Joint Communications Squadron. Prior to attending the National War College, Wampler was deputy director of the Secretary of the Air Force and chief of staff of the Air Force Executive Action Groupon the Air Staff at the Pentagon. Most recently, he served as director of communications for Special Operations Command Europe in Germany. The colonel is a graduate of the Army Basic Airborne, Advanced Airborne and Military Free Fall courses.
